Too long to wait!

Please join us this Thursday evening, March 4, at 8 PM* for the NC premier showing of “6000 Waiting.”  This is a collaborative effort from Georgia’s coalition to engage lawmakers in removing their waitlist for people with I/DD.  It is brief, but rich in story-telling, fact-sharing, and momentum.  You can preview the trailer and background at www.6000waiting.com.

The screening will be provided by the Arc of NC who is advancing a NC proposal to eliminate 25% of the present waitlist this year and a continuing annual 25% until the list is gone.  A “Family Waiver” option is on the table was well as two legislative bills with specific reductions: Senate (SB361) and House (HB488).       

Exciting times for all of us to engage these discussions. Watch this sight for key committees, leaders, and advocates to contact.  All of North Carolina needs to hear our stories through your voice!
